Nan Giving Back: The Story Of Elementary School In Philippines

More than his profession, the Nan Inc owner, Patrick Shin is known for his social initiatives. Nan giving back beautifully reflects the ideology of the Hawaii general contractor who does not leave any opportunity to serve the poor and the needy. This is what has always kept him humble and grounded. He has been supporting many charitable organizations, orphanages, schools, and women empowerment centers with an intention to share his success and achievements with the underprivileged and supporting them in improving their standard of living. The Nan Inc makes every effort to help these people then be it in terms of money, food, shelter, educational stuff like computers, the internet etc. It is these actions of Patrick Shin that make him a person with a heart of gold. He is a giver in a true sense.

However, it is not the success of the Nan Inc Owner, Patrick Shin that has made him a philanthropist but his difficult childhood and big dreams. Patrick Shin’s journey as a Nan Inc Owner wasn’t that easy. Having born to poor parents, things were not streamlined for him. He did a lot of hard work to reach this level. And, this is the reason he wants to give back to the community so that he can help others realize their dream. With this in mind, he does all the charities. Recently, he donated money and manpower for improving the Elementary School in the Philippines. This school is in a rural village, where the work camp was initiated in collaboration with Honolulu YMCA, the Cebu, Philippines YMCA, the Hiroshima, Japan YMCA, the Honolulu Rotary Club, the Nan Chul Shin Foundation and the Hawaiian Eye Foundation. This all was set up to help the disadvantaged. This 2017 service project was commenced on 19th March with representatives of the Nan Chul Shin Foundation and the rotary club, who served a nutritious breakfast to dozens of homeless children and their relatives. This is a weekly event made possible with the Nan Inc.

With this Nan Chul Shin Foundation, the Nan Inc Owner Patrick Shin aims to improve the lives in poor rural areas of the Philippines. The foundation is playing a key role in funding these work camps without any fail, which feeds at these places twice a week. The Nan Inc owner is a silent donor for all these initiatives along with his two daughters. They participate in these work camps each year. The main aim of such events is to provide the basic necessities to the poor children, which cover educational stuff, clean drinking water, playgrounds, bathrooms, improved plumbing and so on. Free dental checkups, eye camps, and other medical camps are also organized with a view to impart quality living to the underprivileged.

Moreover, many co-curricular activities are planned for the children that help them to form special bonds with the volunteers. They sing, dance, and enjoy with the people around. In this way, Nan Chul Shin Foundation creates memories and never-ending friendships with the disadvantaged. Without a doubt, initiatives like these give a huge boost to the poor communities. Good going, Patrick Shin!
