Having completed this project ahead of the time, Nan Inc once again proved its efficiency. The Hawaii construction management was to conclude this project on July 2, 2010, but the speed and efficiency of the team Nan Inc lead to its early completion. According to the Nan Inc owner, Patrick Nan Shin, the success of this project was the result of combined efforts of the team players, U.S Army Corps of Engineers, Public Works Department, contractor, and design engineers whose commitment lead to its successful accomplishment. It was all because of an amazing collaboration from all these people that the Nan Inc was able to finish this contract before time.
A project of U.S Army Corps of Engineers, this Fort Shafter Barracks was a Hawaii design-build contract, which was about Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing Facility for 156 single soldiers, along with necessary support buildings and infrastructure. The goal of this project was to develop the buildings with a 25-year useful design life with no possible re-use, re-purpose or renovation. The design consultants and the Hawaii construction management gave their best for this site, which turned out to be the biggest success afterward. The Nan Inc also made every effort to get this project a Gold Rating and even got it validated by the government as certifiable Silver rated sustainable project.

The Fort Shafter Barracks constructed by the team Nan Inc portrays a medium rise, six-story, 78-unit building, which had been developed out of structural CMU walls and solid-core precast planks. Here are some of its attractive features that made it the talk of the town at that time:
• The entire building is fully air-conditioned for maximum comfort • Each unit has two private bedrooms, a shared bathroom, and a kitchen • Each floor has a laundry room for convenience of the soldiers • The Hawaii construction management has also provided the janitor’s closet for ease of maintenance • There is a boot wash area at each entrance, which was constructed with an aim to minimize the transfer of dirt and debris into the living quarters, thus preserving the air quality and environment within the units • The Nan Inc had also constructed the support structures here for the ease of soldiers, which included chiller plant, smoker’s hut, barbecue pavilion, covered bicycle and motorcycle shed, and a parking lot with 90 stalls
The Hawaii construction management constructed these Barracks by replacing a baseball field, which was originally the part of the Fort Shafter Cantonment Area established in 1936. This project was a great step towards the betterment of the U.S soldiers, which was aimed at delivering them the best facility in the best possible ways. Under the expert guidance of the Nan Inc Owner, Patrick Shin, the team Nan Inc performed really well and gave rise to a structure that would be known for years to come.
